Current Projects

SNP is currently involved in or have recently completed the following projects. Confidentiality considerations prevent us from identifying the projects or the clients in specific detail. The nature of our work is to assist our clients in bringing new products to market with the latest manufacturing technologies in a very competitive environment. As time passes, we will be able to identify past successful projects as a means for future potential clients to understand our performance and capabilities.

General Assembly Process Equipment Installation and Facility Coordination

Plant layout and launch assistance, including bid package development, scheduling, contract administration, engineering and facility co-ordination for two auto manufacturing general assembly shops in the US Midwest and Canada.

Building Facilities Design Support For New Vehicle Launch

SNP's Building Group is working closely with our major automotive client in the design, bid package development and construction follow-up of demolition and new facilities required in support of a major new vehicle launch program. Challenges include meeting critical timing deadlines, budget objectives, coordinating requirements driven by process and manufacturing engineers, and assisting in identifying construction opportunities in production areas prior to the extended launch shutdown. Facilities include structural renovations at production space, truss analysis and reinforcing for new conveyor and process loads, roof-top enclosures for carrier returns, floor preparation for new equipment, truck dock upgrades and vehicle quality audit space enhancements. Completion is targeted for mid-2015.

Energy Studies & Retrofits

Identifying and studying the potential for energy savings, then determining the required scope of modifications on several different types of process and general building equipment at various facilities to improve their energy efficiency.

Body Shop Process Equipment Installation and Facility Coordination

Plant layout and launch assistance, including bid package development, scheduling, contract administration, engineering and facility co-ordination for two auto manufacturing body shops in the US Midwest.

Energy Evaluation and Cost Deployment

Energy usage is a large cost driver in plants that may get out of control without proper attention. SNP is doing energy usage evaluations, cost deployment and cost saving opportunity studies at a number of manufacturing facilities.

Training Database

Tracking the original, current and future skills of thousands of employees in hundreds of lean manufacturing tools is a difficult task. SNP developed and implemented a custom solution for our client to help them achieve world class results.

Facility As-Built (Record Drawings) Survey and Documentation

A good record of existing facility attributes and construction is an essential factor in efficiently maintaining and remodelling spaces, equipment and facilities. We are continually surveying and documenting a 4 million square foot, up to 80 year old, plant.

Final Assembly Line Ventilation Design

The final line of an automobile assembly plant, where the newly assembled vehicle engine is started, creates a challenge for the spatial environment which must be addressed, from calculating exhaust pipe capture velocities to fitting ductwork into tight spaces. We are involved in a number of these projects.

Government Incentive Program Applications

A number of monetarily lucrative and attractive incentive programs are available to clients who introduce energy savings and environmentally protective programs in their plants. We are working on a number of plants to assist our clients in identifying and applying for these incentives from Utility providers.

HVAC Central Control System Upgrade

Plant heating and air conditioning are major cost drivers in large plants. We are implementing sophisticated central controls and designing upgrades to make plants more efficient.

Permitting, Applications for Certificates of Authorization, etc.

One plant is benefiting from our help in applying for and obtaining mandated certifications.

Process Systems Management and Upgrades (CA, CW, ST, NG, P, FP)

Process utilities like compressed air, chilled water, steam, natural gas, power and fire protection are all critical to plant function. We are assisting in managing and upgrading these in one plant.

Powerhouse Maintenance Management

The powerhouse at a large assembly plant is benefitting from our assistance in organizing and prioritizing the maintenance management of the delivery of steam and compressed air.

Safety Upgrades

Plant safety is an ongoing concern in today's plants. We are assisting in indentifying and fixing safety issues on an ongoing basis.

Structural Framing Evaluation and Reinforcing

As new product models are introduced in existing plants, changes occur to hanging loads from superstructure which require analysis and possible reinforcing of structure. We are involved and recently completed evaluation and design at a number of plants.
